The Old Testament refers to light around people. Native American cultures have worked with energy for over 5000 years.
In the 3rd millennium BC the Chinese posted the existence of vital energy, “chi”.
Western CultureFirst recorded in Western literature in 500 BC, Pythagoreans recorded this vital energy, perceived as a luminous energy surrounding people. We now refer to this as the Aura. They held, that its light could produce a variety effects in the human organism, including the cure of illness.
R
eiki is a healing system for personal growth and spiritual enlightenment through energy work. Like a candle, which can light more candles without being extinguished, it operates on a principle of abundance. Pathways of energy are consistently and constantly flowing into our bodies entering through the top of our head, the crown chakra and supplying us with universal energy. Wherever a person attuned to Reiki places their hands, a high level of energy flows. The Reiki practitioner is a channel for the energy to pass as per the clients needs.
U
nconsciously the client draws into their body the energy as the need. The Reiki practitioner intuitively places their hands in various positions on the client and the Reiki flows in abundance. Reiki knows all and is all. It knows where it must go within the physical, mental and emotional centres to shine a light of healing.
Dr Usui developed the 5 Reiki principles as a guide for spiritual development.
THE FIVE REIKI PRINCIPLES- Just for today I will not anger
- Just for today I will not worry
- Just for today I will live the attitude of gratitude
- Just for today I will earn my living honestly
- Just for today I will show love and respect for all living things.
Reiki is passed on from Teacher to Student by way of attunements.
